Sticks out like a ....

Jeni called crying.  "Mom, I was chopping onions for dinner and sliced off the end of my thumb.  What do I do? I can't get a hold of Ricky."

"I'll be right there and take you to ER."

Jeni and Zach were waiting outside when I drove up to their house.

On the way to RVMC, Zach said, "Grandma, hey Grandma!"

"Hey what, Zach?"

"Mama cut her thumb playing with knives.  I'm never ever never going to be a cook!"

Even through her pain and tears, Jeni couldn't help laughing.

Ricky was waiting for us at the door and waited with Jeni while I took Zach to my house so he wouldn't get bored.

An hour later, Jeni and Ricky came in the door (and everyone complains ER is slow!).  Jeni's thumb was wrapped up 5 times normal size.

"How are you?" I asked.

"It hurts and it sticks out, well... like a sore thumb!"

I have to "hand" (pun intended) it to her.  She always finds the humor!

OUCH!!!
